Whether you come with a tent, a caravan or a camper van: Rügen has dozens of campsites, from large family parks with a swimming pool and entertainment to small nature campsites right behind the dunes. Below you will find all the campsites on the map, with the location, the facilities and a direct link to book for each campsite.
Camping by the sea and in nature
Many campsites are located directly on the beach or beside one of the tranquil Bodden, the shallow inland waters that are so characteristic of Rügen. Popular camping regions are the seaside resorts of Göhren and Binz, the Mönchgut peninsula, the Schaabe isthmus between Glowe and Juliusruh, and the northern Wittow. There you camp among pine forest, broad sandy beaches and wide-open nature.
For every type of camper
Families often choose the larger parks with high-quality sanitary facilities, a shop, a restaurant and activities for children. Those seeking peace and quiet will find plenty of space at the smaller nature campsites. Rügen also has a tradition of FKK (naturism), with separate naturist campsites and beaches, especially in the north of the island.
Practical tips
During the summer holidays the most beautiful spots are often fully booked weeks in advance, so reserve in good time. The season runs roughly from April to October; the pre-season and post-season are wonderfully quiet. A campsite is also an ideal base for cycling and hiking trips across the whole island. Take a look at the campsites on the map below and plan your camping holiday on Rügen.
