Rügenbrücke

Rügenbrücke is a bridge on the island of Rügen.

The Rügenbrücke, together with the older Rügendamm causeway, forms the fixed link between the Hanseatic city of Stralsund on the mainland and the island of Rügen across the Strelasund strait. The tall cable-stayed bridge opened in 2007, is about 2.8 kilometres long and has a clearance of 42 metres for shipping. It is the main gateway to Rügen and a striking landmark on arrival.
